

A 20-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly sold more than 100 fake tickets to Sydney’s Knockout Outdoor rave through social media.
Investigations into the alleged ticketing scam began when police were notified of an assault at Cabramatta’s Sussex Street on Monday, September 29, just after 5pm.
Police were told a group of people had gathered at the location in an attempt to obtain refunds after they were allegedly sold fake tickets to the Sydney hardstyle event through social media, which is set to take place this weekend.
Per The Daily Telegraph, the accused allegedly made multiple social media tickets, selling fraudulent tickets for more than $200 each. The publication also reported that he claimed to be a promoter for the rave.
Shortly after, the crowd dispersed, and officers arrested a 20-year-old man at a home on Sussex Street.
He was then taken to Cabramatta Police Station, where he was charged with recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime less than or equal to $5000.
He was granted conditional bail and is set to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday, October 8.
Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
