20 pictures show fire blazing at Arthur's Seat landmark

A FIRE has broken out at the iconic Arthur's Seat landmark in Edinburgh.

Shortly after 4pm on Sunday, plumes of smoke and flames could be seen spreading rapidly across the hill from the city's Holyrood Park.

Four fire engines and specialist resources were sent to the scene, while police have urged people to stay away from the area.

Arthur's Seat is a popular attraction for both tourists and locals and is one of the most well-known landmarks in the country.
