20 new jobs as East Yorkshire car repair team to open second site in Scunthorpe

Twenty new jobs are to be created as a Hull-based car repair centre opens a new site in Scunthorpe.

React Accident Repair Group is gearing up for the South Humber Bank expansion, two years on from the acquisition of Mount Pleasant-based Brian Tindall Paint & Body Shop.

A dozen roles will be created immediately, with the plan to add a further eight over the next year.

React is owned by John Pattinson, Barry Whittles and Chris Elton, a trio who joined forces in early 2018.

After a successful two-year trading period, they feel they have established a trusted reputation for service delivery, notably maintaining operations throughout the coronavirus crisis, providing vital services for key workers, cementing their credibility.

As a result commercial partnerships within the insurance industry have strengthened still further, a key driver behind this significant expansion.

Mr Pattinson, managing director, said: “Many may think that the current economic climate would make this a challenging time to expand but, for us, we feel the timing is perfect. The support of our incredible team has meant that we are experiencing higher levels of demand for our services than ever before and it’s really exciting to be expanding into North Lincolnshire to capitalise on this momentum.”

The new premises are on Foxhills Industrial Estate, to the north of the town centre. Roles will include estimators, receptionist staff, panel beaters, painters and sprayers, transport and logistics operators and valeters.

Mr Pattinson added: “As a group, our business ethos, values and structure are rooted here in East Yorkshire. As such, we are passionately invested in our regional economy and look forward to playing our part in creating new job opportunities and ensuring that our service centres have a lasting, profound and positive impact on the communities in which we are based.”
