20 annoying habits that public transport commuters hate

The public has spoken, revealing the 20 most annoying habits that infuriate them during their daily commute.

According to a survey from Fragrance Direct , farting is the most annoying, while picking your nose  was second place.

Whether you travel by bus or train, you're likely to have seen most of these activities during your journey.

Top 20 annoying activities

(Including percentage of people offended by each action) 

1. Farting - (75%)

2. Picking your nose - (73%) 

3. Talking loudly on the phone - (71%)

4. Swearing - (69%)

5. Taking up more than one seat - (68%)

6. Blocking the aisle with large luggage - (68%)

8. Putting your bag on a free seat - (57%)

9. Man spreading - (55%) 

10. Drinking alcohol - (52%)

11. Spraying hairspray - (52%)

12. Plucking eyebrows or nose hair - (52%)

13. Spraying deodorant or perfume - (46%)

14. Eating fast food - (40%)

80% of women surveyed said they felt embarrassed when they apply make-up on public transport.

20. Eating crisps (22%)

This survey also found that 1/3 one third of women have encountered a rude comment from another passenger.
