20:21 is a celebration of the creative choreographic giants of the 20th and 21st centuries. George Balanchine’s 1946 Symphony in Three Movements, originally created as part of an eight-day tribute concert to the composer, Igor Stravisky, opens the evening.
Next Tim Harbour unveils his world premiere of Filigree and Shadow, set to a contemporary electronic score, and featuring set designs by Australian architect Kelvin Ho. American choreographer Twyla Tharp’s 1986 In the Upper Room ends the night, setting the stage alight with red point shoes, sneakers, and the music of Phillip Glass.
