2 years later, Sen. Lindsey Graham gives Trump his new phone number

COLUMBIA, S.C. _ South Carolina's senior senator seems finally to have made amends with President Donald Trump _ and he has the digits to prove it.

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., had lunch with the Republican president Tuesday. Afterward, Graham tweeted it had gone so well that he shared his new cellphone number with Trump.

That's no small feat for Graham.

At the height of the presidential campaign, when Graham still was vying for the GOP nomination, Trump responded to Graham's criticisms by giving out the senator's private cellphone number during a South Carolina campaign stop.

Making the best of the situation, Graham made a video showing him destroying his old flip phone.

Ultimately, Graham dropped out of the GOP race ahead of the South Carolina primary, which Trump won.

Things seemed to have mellowed out now. After Tuesday's meeting, Graham also wrote Trump is in "deal-making mode," adding, "I hope Congress is like-minded."
