A 2-year-old child has died after suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound Wednesday morning in suburban Joliet.
Officers responded to a home around 10:30 a.m. in the 200 block of South Eastern Avenue and found the wounded child, Joliet police said.
The 2-year-old later died, according to police Sgt. Dwayne English, who said the shooting appeared to be accidental.
