2 wounded in Marquette Park shooting

The pair refused to provide further information to officers, police said.

Two people were wounded in a shooting Friday in Marquette Park on the Southwest Side.

They were standing on a sidewalk about 11:42 p.m. in the 6300 block of South Rockwell Street when someone opened fire and the pair realized they were hit, Chicago police said.

A 27-year-old man was struck in the thigh and an 18-year-old woman was hit in the buttocks, police said. They took themselves to Holy Cross Hospital and were later transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital. Their conditions were stabilized.

Police said the pair refused to provide further information.

No arrests have been made as Area Central detectives are investigating.
