2 wounded in Lawndale shooting

Police investigate a shooting in the 1500 block of South Sawyer.

About six shell casing were strewn across the street.

Two people were wounded in a shooting Friday in Lawndale on the Southwest Side.

They were both shot in the leg as they walked on a sidewalk about 10 p.m. from the 1500 block of South Sawyer, Chicago police said.

A 15-year-old boy was taken to Stroger Hospital, and a 27-year-old man was brought to Mt. Sinai Hospital, police said. Their conditions have been stabilized.

Shortly after the shooting, police taped off a section of street where six shell casing were scattered.

Area Central detectives were investigating. No arrests have been reported.
