2 Vikings make PFF’s preseason Week 3 Team of the Week

The Vikings had two players make Pro Football Focus’ preseason Week 3 Team of the Week after Saturday’s 20-9 win over the Cardinals.

On offense, guard Dakota Dozier made the team with a grade of 87.2.

Here’s what PFF wrote about Dozier:

Dozier played both tackle and guard for the Vikings this week, with 23 of his 42 snaps coming at left guard. At either spot, he didn’t allow a sack, hit or hurry, despite totaling 19 pass-blocking snaps in the game.

Defensively, the team’s starting linebacker Anthony Barr made the team with a player grade of 91.0.

PFF on Barr:

Barr was very nearly a member of the New York Jets this past offseason, but performances like we saw against the Arizona Cardinals show why the Vikings will be happy to have him back in the fold in Minnesota. All five of his solo tackles resulted in a defensive stop, and the two receptions in his coverage earned just five yards per catch.

Dozier’s performance is a solid one and an important one for him considering he’s fighting for a roster spot.

Barr, on the other hand, will be the team’s starting linebacker. But after signing a big extension with the team this offseason, fans will be looking for a little more from Barr in 2019.
