Two teenagers have been charged in connection with a stolen SUV crash Friday in Park Manor on the South Side.

The teens, a 17-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl, allegedly hopped into a woman’s 2007 Volvo about 8:30 p.m. while she was warming it up near the intersection of 78th and Ada streets, Chicago police said. They then drove the Volvo to the 7400 block of South King Drive, where they struck another vehicle, lost control and drove into a building.

The teens tried to run from the scene but were caught, police said. They were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where they were stabilized.

The boy was charged with a felony count of possession of a stolen vehicle, police said. The girl was charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal trespass to a vehicle.

The teenagers were not named because they are minors.
