Two teenagers were shot about ten minutes apart Friday in Brighton Park on the Southwest Side.

A 15-year-old boy was standing outside at 2:19 p.m. when someone approached him and shot him in the back in the 4100 block of South California Avenue, according to Chicago police. The shooter ran away southbound.

The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital, but his condition was unknown, police said.

Officers responded to another call of shots fired at 2:29 p.m. and found a 17-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his thigh a few blocks away in the 4300 block of South Washtenaw, police said. He was taken in good condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.

Police said there is no indication that the two shootings are related.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
