When the Pittsburgh Steelers take the field on Sunday afternoon against the Seattle Seahawks, they might do so more than a little shorthanded. The team put out its injury report for this week’s game and two names stood out.
Yes, we know fullback Roosevelt Nix is listed at out and technically a starter but his absence isn’t likely to be felt on offense. However, listing starting center Maurkice Pouncey and cornerback Joe Haden as questionable is worrisome.
It sounds as if Pouncey is more confident in his ability to play this week as opposed to Haden.
If Pouncey can’t go or re-aggravates his ankle injury, B.J. Finney would be called on to take the starter reps at center. Finney is a solid player but there’s no denying there’s a significant dropoff.
At cornerback, if Haden can’t go, former first-round pick Artie Burns would be the next man up. The Steelers take on the Seattle Seahawks this weekend.
