May 20--Two men were stabbed and two men were shot in South Side attacks Friday morning, according to police.
The stabbing occurred around 5:30 a.m. in the 6900 block of South Prairie Avenue when a fight broke out among three "known acquaintances," police said.
One of them pulled a knife and stabbed the other two, according to police. A 24-year-old man was wounded several times in the face and body and was dead on the scene, police said. A 21-year-old man was injured in the left arm and taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was reported stable.
No one was in custody, police said.
About 7 a.m., a 33-year-old man was found shot in the leg in the 6200 block of South Michigan Avenue, police said.
He told officers he had been shot in the 8500 block of South Burley Avenue, about 7 miles away. But he was not being cooperative with investigators, police said.
He was taken to St. Bernard, where he was reported stable.
About 9:40 a.m., a man was injured in a shooting in South Deering, police said.
The 33-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 9700 block of South Merrill Avenue in the Jeffery Manor neighborhood, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman.
The victim was taken to Trinity Hospital in stable condition.
