Two people were shot Wednesday in Chicago, including a man who was killed in West Humboldt Park.

About 2:50 a.m., officers found an unidentified man lying unresponsive in the street in the 4400 block of West Chicago Avenue, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed the man’s death, but did not release additional details.

There were no witnesses to the shooting and the circumstances remain unknown, police said.

The day’s other shooting wounded a woman in South Shore.

The woman, 22, was shot in the arm about 12:54 p.m. in the 2600 block of East 75th Street, according to Chicago police.

She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where her condition was stabilized, police said.

Wednesday’s shootings follow a Tuesday in which seven people were wounded in citywide gun violence.
