Two people were shot — one of them fatally — Thursday in Englewood, hours after another fatal shooting just a block away.
The two men were sitting in a parked vehicle about 1:35 a.m. in the 7000 block of South Perry when someone in a white SUV pulled up and opened fire on them, Chicago police said.
One man, 42, was shot in the abdomen and shoulder and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said. The other man, 43, was shot in the arm and hand and was stabilized at the same hospital.
The shooting happened about three hours after another double shooting a block farther south on Perry Avenue. Police said it was too early to tell whether or not the shootings were related.
Area South detectives are investigating.
