April 29--Police are warning residents in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side of two armed robberies that happened in the area over the past week.
The two incidents took place within three blocks of each other on Monday and Wednesday, according to a news release from the Chicago Police Department.
In each robbery, attackers approached a victim on the sidewalk, and one of the attackers pointed a handgun at the victim's head before taking their property. The attackers would then run away or drive away in a silver car, which was described as a coupe or a small sedan, according to the release.
The latest robbery happened around 12:13 a.m. on Wednesday in the 2600 block of North Sawyer Avenue, and the second robbery occurred at 3:10 a.m. Monday in the 2300 block of North Sawyer Avenue, according to the release.
One suspect is a black man who is between 20 and 30 years old. He is between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-7 in height and weighs between 130 and 150 pounds. He has a medium complexion and had a sandy-colored Afro hairstyle. He was wearing a gray vest, black pants, black two-pocket shirt and a black ski cap, according to the release.
A second suspect is a black male of an unknown age who is between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-10. He weighs between 200 and 210 pounds and has black hair. He was wearing a blue button-up loosely worn shirt, according to the release.
