Every training camp, there are a few players who entertain and impress during practices, leading them to become fan favorites. Usually, these are lesser-known players who fans want to make the roster due to their upside, athleticism or personality.
Last year, it was none other than Chris Warren who stole the hearts of the fans as he led the league in rushing yards during the preseason. Despite his preseason success, he failed to make the roster after suffering a knee injury in the team’s final exhibition game.
Today, we are looking at two players who could become stars (with the help of HBO’s “Hard Knocks”) during training camp.
DE Maxx Crosby

“Mad” Maxx Crosby was picked by the Raiders in the fourth round of April’s draft. He was one of the most productive defensive ends in the country thanks to his insane motor and incredible athleticism.
While fellow rookie Clelin Ferrell will undoubtedly receive more attention in camp, don’t be surprised if Crosby makes his way up the depth chart sooner rather than later. He’s just too talented not to have a role with the Raiders this season. Expect fans to fall in love with his constant motor during training camp and the preseason.
WR Hunter Renfrow

Everywhere Hunter Renfrow goes, gets knocked for his lack of size and speed. However, every time, Renfrow ends up getting the last laugh as he proved to be one of the best receivers in the country for Clemson.
Given his unassuming size, Renfrow will be an underdog once again in Raiders camp. But look for him to quickly establish a role in Oakland’s offense as a slot receiver. He simply finds a way to get open and isn’t afraid of making the biggest plays at the most crucial time of the game. Look for Renfrow to become a key player for the Raiders in 2019.
