2 men wounded, 1 fatally in Marquette Park shooting

The two men were in an alley when someone walked up to them and began to fire shots, police said.

Two men were wounded, one fatally in a shooting in Marquette Park on the South Side.

The two men, 39 and 43, were standing in an alley about 10:06 p.m. in the 6400 block of South Talman Avenue when someone approached them and began to fire shots, Chicago police said. The 39-year-old was struck in the back and the 43-year-old in the leg.

They were both taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said. The 39-year-old was in critical condition and later died. The 43-year-old’s condition was stabilized.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
