2 teens shot in Englewood

700 block of West 61st Place | Google Maps

Two teenagers were wounded, one of them critically, in a shooting Monday afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The shooting happened at 1:07 p.m. in the 700 block of West 61st Place, according to Chicago police.

A 19-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to his chest and legs, police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.

A 17-year-old boy was shot in his foot and taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

The younger victim was not cooperating with investigators, police said.

Area South detectives are investigating.
