Two people, including a 16-year-old boy, were taken into custody Wednesday after allegedly hitting a cyclist with a stolen SUV in West Town.
The boy was driving a white Chevrolet Tahoe at a high speed about 6:10 p.m. in the 1300 block of West Hubbard Street when he hit a northbound cyclist on Ogden Avenue, Chicago police said. The cyclist was thrown off his bike and landed on a Toyota in another lane of traffic.
The cyclist was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said. The boy and another person in the vehicle were taken into custody, with one of them hospitalized with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.
Police sources said the Chevrolet was stolen about three hours earlier in Noble Square.
Two weapons were recovered and charges are pending, police said.
