2 die while descending Nashik hill

NASHIK: Two mountaineers died and another one was injured while climbing down the Thumbs Up Pinnacle, a steep hill in Nashik, on Wednesday evening.

Police have registered a case of accidental death. The deceased have identified as Mayur Mhaske (22) of Dahigaon and Anil Wagh (35) from Savdi. The injured mountaineer is 27 year-old Prashant Pawar. All of them are fro m the Ahmednagar district. The bodies of the two deceased men have been handed over to their families.

Chandwad police inspector Sameer Baravkar said the three mountaineers had organised an event to scale up the ‘Hadbichi Shendi’, also known as Thumbs Up Pinnacle, near the Manmad town. They were leading a team of 13 children.
