2 deaths, 250 new Covid cases in Madhya Pradesh, positivity surges to 3.1%

BHOPAL: A total of 250 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the state on Saturday.

Two deaths were also reported one from Jabalpur and one from Indore district taking the total number of deaths reported so far in the state to 10,760 and with this deaths, a total of four deaths have been reported in the six days of August so far. In July, 14 deaths have been attributed to Covid in the state. In April, May and June, eight deaths were reported in MP.

Saturday was also the 32nd consecutive day when more than 100 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported in the state.

Against these 250 new cases, 240 people recovered from the disease on Saturday. Thus the number of active cases decreased from 1,385 on August 5 to 1,393 on August 6.

New infections were reported from 24 of the 52 districts of the state. Among these 24-districts, cases were reported in double digits from Indore (80 cases), Bhopal (68), Jabalpur and Sehore (17 each) and Gwalior (10 cases) districts.

Positivity rate increased 3.1% was reported in the state. Positivity rate is the number of people testing positive out of every100 samples tested. Only 7820 samples were tested in the state. On the brighter side, 240 people recovered, taking the count of those who have recovered so far from Covid-19 to 10,38,941.
