2 Chicago men try to woo 'The Bachelorette' with gimmicks in premiere

May 24--Chicago staffing agency manager Peter Medina gave JoJo Fletcher his heart, but she didn't give him a rose.

Medina and real estate consultant Coley Knust, who played football for Joliet Catholic Academy, were among the six contestants eliminated by Fletcher on Monday's Season 12 premiere of "The Bachelorette."

"It just sucks. No one likes to be sent home but I hope the best for her," said Medina, 26.

Knust and Medina, who hails from Rockdale, didn't get much screen time in Monday's episode, which focused on rehashing Fletcher's break-up with Season 20 "Bachelor" Ben Higgins and introducing her 26 suitors.

"I'm actually in real estate too," Knust told Fletcher, a Texas real estate developer. "I'm hoping by the end of this that I will be the one that's able to take you off the market."

"That's a good one, Coley," Fletcher said.

"Here's my heart. I wanted to be your #ManCrushMonday," Medina said as he presented Fletcher a large red heart.

The 20 contestants who remain on "The Bachelorette" are from outside Illinois. The show airs 7 p.m. Mondays on ABC.
