Two Chicago police officers were hurt after their vehicle collided with a pickup truck Monday in Hermosa on the Northwest Side.

They were traveling northbound about 9:08 p.m. in the 2100 block of North Pulaski Road in an unmarked vehicle with its emergency equipment activated, Chicago police said. A Honda Ridgeline that was also northbound on Pulaski made an illegal U-turn and struck the officers’ vehicle.

The officers were taken to an area hospital in fair condition with leg and neck pain, police said.

The 23-year-old man driving the Honda was taken to Saint Mary’s Hospital for observation, police said. Citations are pending.
