Two people are accused of stealing an SUV for sale at gunpoint Friday in Little Village on the Southwest Side.

Oscar Diaz, 25, was charged with a felony count of vehicular hijacking, Chicago police said. A 17-year-old boy was charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm.

The pair pretended they were interested in buying a 2003 Ford Explorer from a 39-year-old man, Chicago police said. During a test drive about 1:50 a.m. in the 2300 block of South Ridgeway Avenue, the teen said he had a gun, and the two beat the man before pushing him out of the SUV.

Diaz was arrested about 3:37 p.m. in the 2400 block of South Drake Avenue, police said. The teen was taken into custody less than half an hour later during a traffic stop in the 2200 block of South Trumbull Avenue.

Both are due in bond court Saturday.
