£2,000 worth of cannabis seized after man caught driving more than double the speed limit

Police seized £2,000 worth of cannabis from a car after a man was caught driving more than double the speed limit in Salford.

The VW Golf was stopped by traffic cops on Upper Camp Street after it was seen travelling at 65mph in a 30mph zone.

Posting on social media, police said the vehicle was searched and about £2,000 worth of the Class B drug was found.

The man was found to have no licence or insurance and was also on prison licence, police said.

An arrest has been made, the post on the GMP Traffic account said.

The full post read: "VW Golf stopped by officers on Upper Camp Street, Salford having been seen travelling at 65mph in a 30mph zone.

"Vehicle searched and approx £2,000 worth of cannabis found.

"Male found to have no licence / insurance and also on prison licence. Taken to Pendleton custody."
