1920s style bar The Highball Club opening in Liverpool this weekend

Liverpool city centre will welcome a new bar this weekend, and it's 1920s themed.

The Highball Club will take over The Bar That Stole Christmas’ spot at Collective on Seel Street, bringing a new idea to life.

Rivaling the optimism, opulence and glamour of the twenties, The Highball Club will aim to mirror the lavish parties the era came to be known for.

The new bar will give the roaring 20s a new home in Liverpool, with "bootleg" liquor, dishes fit for royalty and an eclectic cocktail menu.

The Highball Club is the latest addition to Collective on Seel Street, which will be home to five different independent businesses, spread across two buildings and three storeys, including a bar, cafe, speakeasy, wine bar - and a few surprises too.

A spokesperson for Collective said: “As a venue that aims to continually evolve, our newest edition encapsulates our ethos perfectly. As we enter a new chapter in the ever-changing story of the city of Liverpool, we are proud to introduce to you The Highball Club.

“With plans to open five different venues within the Seel Street site, Collective’s core values of supporting local independents mirrors the grand sense of ambition last seen 100 years ago.

“As a melting pot of different ideas and concepts, The Highball Club will satisfy even the most impatient of you as more businesses begin to open over the next few months.”

The Highball Club opens at Collective this Friday, January 24.
