1917 star George MacKay pays a visit to beloved city centre Italian restaurant

With the Glasgow Film Festival well underway, there's plenty of star power currently in our city.

And one of the most exciting attendees of this year's festival is the lead of award-winning blockbuster 1917 - George MacKay, who is here for the Scottish premiere of his latest film The True History of the Kelly Gang.

During his stay in Glasgow, a beloved city centre Italian restaurant was treated to a visit by the star.

George popped into Fratelli Sarti for dinner last night, much to the delight of the staff.

And from all accounts, it looks like the actor was an absolute sweetheart, happily posing for pictures with the staff after his meal, which were posted to their social media, saying "What a pleasure to have you in our restaurant!"

The actor shot to fame for his lead role in the World War I epic 1917, which was partially filmed in Glasgow and won a host of awards, including Oscars, Golden Globes and BAFTAs.

And it looks like he made an excellent impression on Glasgow. George, you can come back to Glasgow anytime you want!
