19-year-old arrested from UP for links with LeT

PUNE: The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Sunday arrested Inamul Haq alias Inamul Imtiaz (19) from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh on the charge of having links with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operatives.

This comes as part of an investigation after ATS officers arrested Mohammed Junaid Ata from Dapodi in Pune on May 23 on similar charges. The ATS later arrested Aftab Hussain Shah (28), a carpenter from Jammu and Kashmir, for his alleged links with Junaid and the terror operatives.

On Monday, the ATS produced Haq before a city court, which ordered his custodial remand till June 24. An ATS officer said Haq was in touch with Junaid, a resident of Khamgaon in Buldhana, through a social media site. Junaid, who is in judicial custody, was in touch with Shah and other members of the module, he said.

Haq is originally from Jharkhand but is currently based in Saharanpur.
