This finding comes courtesy of a Realtor.com study using in-house July 2025 housing figures. The data was analyzed to determine the minimum recommended income if you want to buy a median-priced home in all 50 states. The Midwest accounts for nine states on this list, the most out of any region.
Ranked from highest to lowest income needed, see the states where a home can be bought without earning a $100,000 salary.

1. Texas
