An almost 200 year old property is up for sale in Liverpool, on one of the city’s most exclusive roads.
The lodge, which dates back to the 1840s, was one of the first homes built on Fulwood Park. Described as a “hidden oasis” in Aigburth, Fulwood Park first established by merchants William and Alexander Smith, during the reign of Elizabeth I in the 16th century.
The pair split the park into smaller plots to sell, with stables, coach houses and lodges making up the leafy road in the 1900s. Since, properties have been converted into homes, with some of the city’s largest houses now nestled on the private stretch.

At one end of the half a mile road, it's within walking distance to Sefton Park, while the other end is closer to Otterspool promenade. Properties on Fulwood road are some of the last surviving homes of the 1800s, with the street still benefiting from three of its original villas.
Many of the homes sit behind tall walls, gates and hedges, for additional privacy. Now the old lodge, next to the sandstone entrance pillars, is up for sale.
Despite being the gatehouse, the two bedroom detached house still retains much of its privacy. Inside the property is spread across two levels, with family areas and one bedroom to the ground floor.

The second bedrooms and a family bathroom make up the first floor. Outside the property has an established courtyard garden with gated access onto Fulwood Park, providing space for off road parking.
The Eden listing reads: "Fulwood Park is a beautiful Private Park nestled within this established location of Aigburth, being served by a wealth of local amenities and plentiful local green space. This popular part of Liverpool is admired for its quick and easy access to Liverpool City Centre and Waterfront together with its many attractions such as shopping facilities, bars, restaurants and theatres."
