18-year-old taken to hospital after car flipped in crash in Newport

An 18-year-old man has been taken to hospital after a two-car crash in Newport on Sunday evening.

The incident involving a Vauxhall Astra and a Vauxhall Corsa took place at around 6.15pm on Sunday, January 17, resulting in one car being flipped onto its roof.

Police confirmed the incident on Monday, saying three parked cars were damaged in the incident.

An 18-year-old man has been taken to the Grange Hospital. However, his injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

A spokesperson from Gwent Police said: "We received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Corporation Road, Newport yesterday shortly after 6.15pm.

"The collision involved a Vauxhall Astra and a Vauxhall Corsa. Three parked vehicles were damaged during the collision.

"An 18-year-old man was taken to The Grange Hospital for treatment.

"His injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening."
