18 things in Liverpool we'll never take for granted again once lockdown ends

We’re nearly into the sixth week of the coronavirus lockdown and life in Liverpool has changed very much.

Normally by now we’d be spending the weekends in beer gardens, shopping for summer holidays and watching the match.

Sadly none of that is happening and we’ve still got a while to go before we enjoy any of those simple pleasures again.

In fact once this is all over, there are certain things we’ll never take for granted again.

  • Being able to nip into Primark to pick up a few bits and coming out with four bags full.
  • Or queuing in Zara. We’ll never moan again!
  • Walking past someone and not moving further away or holding your breath.

  • McDonald’s drive thru.
  • Being able to go to the shop just when you fancy a bottle of wine without breaking any rules.
  • Going to Greggs for breakfast or lunch. Working from home just isn’t the same.
  • Sunbathing on the beach or in Sefton Park.
  • Going out and listening to live music.
  • Staying out till 7am and spending a small fortune. We’ll never regret this again.
  • Going to the theatre or one of the museums - why didn’t we do this more often?
  • Being able to take the kids to play on the swings.
  • Buying a 99 from an ice cream van.

  • Getting our hair and nails done whenever they need it.
  • Watching a film in the cinema. We're over Netflix already.
  • After work drinks that you weren't planning but turn into a massive night out.
  • Eating out. We’d happily queue outside Casa right now.
