18 more deaths from coronavirus in Northern Ireland as toll hits 365

Coronavirus has claimed 18 more lives in Northern Ireland, the latest figures show.

The region's 'cumulative' death toll from Covid-19 has reached 365 as of 9.30am on Friday, May 1 - up from 347 on Thursday, Belfast Live reports.

The statistics dashboard, which appeared again today after earlier teething problems, indicated that in the last two days 87 more people have tested positive for Covid-19.

It added that a total of 3,623 ‘individuals’ have tested positive.

In its daily update, the region's Department of Health also said there are 33 ICU beds in use by coronavirus patients, with another 33 marked as 'available'.

A total of 49 ICU beds are in use by patients marked as ‘other’.
