LUCKNOW: A 17-year-old boy addicted to an online multiplayer battleground game shot his mother dead using her dad's licensed pistol when she refused to give him Rs 10,000 required for the game's next level.
According to the police, the boy dragged her body to a room, locked it and invited his friend for a party a day later after threatening his sister, 10, with dire consequences if she raised an alarm. The accused ran an air-conditioner at low temperature in the room and sprayed air-freshener to keep the stench out for the next 48 hours until neighbours called the cops late on Tuesday. The boy's father is an Army man posted in West Bengal.
The horrific details were narrated by the terrified girl before the child welfare officer on Wednesday. According to police, the girl was highly traumatised as he shot their mother in her sleep when the girl lay next to her. She woke up hearing the gunshot only to see her mother lying dead.
