17-year-old boy shot in Gresham

A 17-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting Sunday in Gresham on the South Side.

He was in the parking lot of a store about 9:30 p.m. in the 7500 block of South Ashland Avenue when someone opened fire, striking him in the abdomen, Chicago police said.

The teen was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in fair condition, police said.

Area Two detectives are investigating.
