17 days: Former UGA LB Davin Bellamy (#17) remembers game-sealing play vs Notre Dame

With 17 days remaining until the return of Georgia football, a great No. 17 took a stroll down memory lane to get himself and the DawgNation ready for Bulldog kickoff.

Davin Bellamy, who wore No. 17 during his four years in Athens, is now a member of the Houston Texans. But he hasn’t forgotten his roots.

In honor of 17 days left, Bellamy tweeted out a video of the game-sealing strip-sack he made against a ranked Notre Dame team in South Bend. Georgia walked away from the two schools’ first ever regular season meeting victorious, by a score of 20-19 in week two of the 2017 season.

The game ended when senior outside linebacker Davin Bellamy got around the edge and was able to force a fumble out of the hands of quarterback Brandon Wimbushm, which was recovered by fellow senior Lorenzo Carter.

The two storied programs will meet again this season in week in four. The game, which will take place in Athens, is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. kickoff on CBS.
