LUCKNOW: The number of people immunized against Covid-19 in Lucknow crossed the 4 lakh mark on Tuesday, though daily inoculations dropped in comparison to Monday.
Total 17,707 people, including 8,157 (46%) women, were jabbed at 67 booths – 59 government and eight private. Of these, 33.8% (5,987) recipients took the second dose while 11,720 (66.1%) got the first.
With this, 4.05 lakh people – 11.2% of the 36 lakh adult population – in the district have completed the two-dose course, while 9.4 lakh (26.1%) have got one shot so far. In the six months of mass immunisation campaign, 17.55 lakh doses, including 18,945 on Tuesday, have been administered in the city so far.
As per the state CoWIN dashboard, vaccination in rural areas has been very low in comparison to the urban. In the last 10 days, on an average 16,277 people got inoculated daily at the centres in the city, whereas only 2,598 took vaccines every day in rural health facilities. Of the total doses administered on Tuesday, people in 18-44 years age group received 9,690 (54.7%) doses followed by 5,820 (32.8%) doses to the 45-59 years category.
