16th Kirkcudbright Art and Crafts Trail provides something for everyone

There was something for everything at the 16th Kirkcudbright Art and Crafts Trail over the weekend.

People flocked to more than 100 venues to look at examples of work created in the Artists’ Town.

And one of the organisers, Colin Saul, was delighted with how things went.

He said: “It was a fantastic weekend. We were very lucky with the weather as a lot of activities were outside.

“We had a late addition as a Hungarian international opera singer offered to do a performance.

“We got some very good musicians in to Broughton House and she performed on Sunday. Her voice was very powerful.

“We are also very inclusive and had prisoners from Dumfries displaying their art in the old library which was called Captive Art!

“We had lots of first timers coming and we also have a lot of returnees who are always amazed at being able to go into houses and sheds and studious to see the work – and it is all for free.”
