16-year-old robbed at knifepoint at city park waiting to meet friend

A 16-year-old was robbed at knifepoint by three men at a park.

Police said the incident happened at the Radford Recreation Ground, Ashburnham Avenue, at around 9pm on Monday (December 16).

A spokesman for the force said: "It was reported that the three men demanded the victim hand over their bike and phone.

"The victim initially resisted but was assaulted by one of the men.

"The offenders then took the victim’s bike, described as a Voodoo Bantu with a distinctive black with grey cameo pattern."

Detective Sergeant Chris Berryman, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The incident is believed to have taken place in the park in Ashburnham Avenue while the victim was waiting to meet a friend."

Anyone with information which may help the investigation is asked to call the force on 101, quoting incident 923 of December 16.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
