As expected this year’s COVID Oscars were just as chaotic as the Golden Globes, but somehow slightly worse. From Glenn Close twerking to that shit-show of an ending, the Oscars was certainly ~something~.
It wasn’t all bad though and there were some truly iconic moments, like Daniel Kaluuya thanking his mum and dad for having sex in his acceptance speech. Kaluuya won an Oscar for Best Supportive Actor for his work in Judas And The Black Messiah.
“It’s incredible. My mum met my dad, they had sex,” Kaluuya said.
“It’s amazing, you know what I’m saying? Then I’m here! I’m so happy to be alive.”

ALSO can we just acknowledge Daniel Kaluuya played Kenneth in Skins???? Not even Nicholas Hoult has won an Oscar. We love to see it.

And the award for the second best Oscars moment before it all went down hill goes to… Youn Yuh-Jung for flirting with Brad Pitt.
Yuh-Jung won the gong for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Minari, she is also is the first Korean actor to win an Oscar.

Other older folks that didn’t give a flying fuck at the Oscars on Monday were Harrison Ford and Frances McDormand. Both just looked extremely tired and over it, and honestly I’d feel the same if I had to attend a weird, empty Oscars at Los Angeles Train Station.

Finally, the most chaotic part of the Oscars and that was when producers set up the entire award schedule so that Chadwick Boseman could posthumously win Best Actor at the conclusion of the show. BUT to their surprise, the award for Best Actor actually went to Anthony Hopkins for his role in The Father. YET, he wasn’t even at the awards to accept it, so the whole thing ended super abruptly and awkwardly.
The Oscars were so sure that Chadwick Boseman was going to win that they REARRANGED THE ENTIRE CEREMONY so his category could be last, and then they gave the award to Anthony Hopkins instead…the most chaotic and unhinged thing I've ever seen.
