THE 15-year-old who died after paddle-boarding at a Fife loch has been named as Alexander McNab.
At around 1.20pm on Sunday, June 29, police recovered the body of a male youth from the water at Lochore Meadows in Crosshill, Fife.
McNab had been reported missing on Saturday, June 28. His family were then informed of the tragic discovery, and the teenager has now been named publicly.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal, police said.
The family released the following statement via Police Scotland:
“Alexander was much loved, caring, adventurous, bold, hard-working, ambitious and always looking out and caring for others.
“He is a much-loved son, brother, grandson, cousin, friend and boyfriend and a big part of his local community.
“Alexander will be forever missed by those that knew him and loved him.
“The family would appreciate privacy at this emotional time.”
Detective Sergeant Duncan Thompson said: “Our thoughts are very much with Alexander’s family at this very distressing time and we have specialist officers supporting them.”
