An investigation has been launched by gardai after a teenager fell ill in a Kildare school and later died in hospital.
The tragic incident happened yesterday when the 15-year-old fell ill in the school's gymnasium in Clane, Co Kildare.
He was rushed to Crumlin Children's Hospital where he sadly died that afternoon.
Gardai have confirmed that a post mortem will take place which will determine the course of their invesigation.
A garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating the sudden death of a 15 year old male that occurred in a gymnasium at a local school in Clane, Co. Kildare, Tuesday 3rd of September.
"After becoming unwell he was taken to Crumlin Children’s Hospital where he passed away later this afternoon.
"A Post-mortem is due to take place which will determine the course of the investigation."
