15-year-old arrested after police find him in possession of cannabis, cash and burner phones at Chorlton Water Park

A group of teenagers were caught in possession of cannabis and cash by police officers in south Manchester earlier this week.

On Thursday (April 23), officers detected a strong smell of cannabis while on patrol at Chorlton Water Park.

The smell led police to three male teenagers hanging around the area, who were then searched under Section 23 Misuse Drugs Act.

One 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of Possession with Intent to Supply Cannabis.

Police subsequently seized a number of snap bags containing cannabis alongside cash and burner phones.

“This male is currently in custody awaiting to be interviewed,” GMP Chorlton and Didsbury posted on Facebook.

“Please only leave the house to exercise and buy essential items.

“Unfortunately cannabis is not an essential item!!”

Earlier this month, officers discovered a huge cannabis farm at a property in Tameside.

A large number of plants surrounded by electrical equipment were discovered, with GMP posting on social media: "If the green fingered person(s) would like to claim their "GROW" back feel free to come and make an appointment at the police station.

"Bring your green fingered friends with you if you like."
