15 warnings dished out to drivers as Edinburgh police split up large gathering at industrial estate

Police were forced to split-up a group of motorists caught driving in an "anti-social" manner on snow and ice in Midlothian.

15 warnings were issued and seven anti-social behaviour traffic tickets were dished out by officers during the incident at an industrial estate in Dryden Vale, Loanhead.

Police say they were called to the gathering in the early hours of Saturday morning, and all drivers were dispersed a short time later with no further drama.

Midlothian Police said: "In the early hours of Saturday, 9 January, funded Midlothian Community Action Team officers and response officers attended a report of a number of vehicles being driven in an anti-social manner on ice and snow in the Loanhead area of Midlothian.

"As a result seven anti-social behaviour traffic tickets were issued along with 15 recorded police warnings in connection with culpable and reckless conduct.

"All vehicles and occupants were dispersed with no further incident."
