JAIPUR: At least 15 out of 33 districts in Rajasthan have less than 10 active Covid cases each, while three districts — Banswara, Dholpur and Dungarpur — have no such cases. The overall active cases count as on Saturday stood at 750.
For the past 10 days, the state has been reporting less than 80 daily new infections daily. The recovery rate too has gone up to 98.9%, with 119 more persons recovering from the virus taking the total tally of such cases to 9,43,376.
Despite the recovery rate going up, the virus is still claiming lives. In July, 24 persons have died of Covid across the state. In the last 24 hours, two persons died taking the overall fatalities to 8,945. With 56 fresh cases, the cumulative count reached 9,53,074.
“In the past 10 days, the active cases have reduced by more than 49% as state is reporting less than 80 daily new infections,” said a senior health department official.
Jaipur has the highest active cases at 196, followed by Alwar (136) and Jodhpur (51).
Around 50% of the districts have not reported even a single Covid case while 17 have reported 56 cases. Districts which reported new cases are Jaipur (14), Kota (10), Udaipur (8), Jodhpur (4),Jaisalmer (2), Sriganganagar (2), Nagaur (2), Alwar (2), Tonk (2), Bharatpur(2), Chittorgarh (2), Churu (1), Hanumangarh (1), Jhalawar (1), Jhunjhunu (1) ,Sikar (1) and Sirohi (1).
Udaipur reported its 748th Covid-19 death and Bundi reported its 48th Covid-19 fatality.
