The phrase ‘west is best’ gets banded about a bit - but when it comes to Glasgow, it’s not far wrong.
The west end has long been the playground of Glasgow’s wealthiest occupants - those who moved there first were cashing in on the leafy parkland away from the city centre smog, and they even built themselves a toy train (ahem, we mean Subway) to get around.
These days the population is far more diverse, with students, lifers and everyone else in between living there for at least some stage of their lives.
