15 new Covid cases, no death for seventh day in Lucknow

LUCKNOW: In a sigh of relief, no Covid-19 death was reported in the city for the seventh day on Tuesday.

Such a drop in Covid-19 deaths has been witnessed after a gap of four months. Earlier, no death due to the disease had occurred for 19 days at a stretch from February 15 to March 6.

At least 15 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the past 24 hours, while 13 patients recovered. The active cases are now 167.

Meanwhile, a patient of black fungus infection or mucormycosis died at KGMU. The 65-year-old man, a resident of Ganeshganj, had survived Covid-19 but contracted mucormycosis during the treatment. Six more patients of mucormycosis were admitted to KGMU, taking the university's caseload to 514.

Surgeries to remove the infected tissues were performed on four patients, whereas eight patients were discharged after recovery, said KGMU officials.
