15 more suspected dengue cases in Lucknow

LUCKNOW: Even as 15 suspected cases of dengue were reported from the city through rapid card tests at outpatient departments (OPD) of three major hospitals, a 55-year-old resident of Kaiserbagh died at Balrampur hospital’s emergency on Tuesday afternoon allegedly due to fever.

Of these 15 patients, five were reported from the OPD of Dr SPM Civil hospital, six tested positive for dengue in the card test at Lokbandhu combined hospital and four at Balrampur hospital’s OPD. All were given medicine and sent home.

Civil hospital chief medical superintendent Dr SK Nanda said that if patients return with persistent fever and symptoms, their sample will be sent for ELISA test.

Meanwhile, the family of the patient who died at Balrampur emergency hospital said he was suffering from fever and loose motion for two days and was under the supervision of a local physician. He was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday when his condition deteriorated and could not be saved.
